Two more pet portraits commissioned for Christmas presents 🥰🎁🐶

2 glorious pet portraits commissioned for Christmas presents. Absolutely loved doing these! 🥰🎁🐶

If you’re looking for a similar personal gift for an upcoming occasion drop me a DM or email to maryflorahart@gmail.com - Prices start at £80 and include both a digital and printed copy up to A3 📨 See more bespoke commissions here.

Quick side note… I was really excited about these two commissions, since getting my own proper printer a few months ago, I was finally able to provide a high quality print in the price, rather than just a digital copy and suggested printing options. It all felt a lot more professional! However, Royal Mail fucked me over and the first arrived ripped in half whilst the second didn’t come until a week after Christmas despite sending it off super early 😅 quite the stressful learning curve, but very grateful for both clients being super patient and understanding throughout 💚 Going forward different delivery options will be utilised!

Fancy a cuppa?

Here’s an additional bit of work done for Knowle West Media Center earlier in November as part of the ‘Come Together’ project. This part is a collaborative piece with myself and audio artist Michelle Roche.

I always love to have my work in the physical, and even better when that includes over 3000 copies! The following illustration was printed as postcards and within The Knowledge magazine sent to thousands to read and enjoy.

The image should hopefully explain all to do with this collaboration. Image text below.

Listen I’m here for you - Is an audio piece inviting you to have a cup of tea with artist Michelle Roche, exploring and celebrating the necessity of connection and shared time between people, even strangers, and the importance and simplicity of tea.

Call the number above when you have time to hear a recorded audio piece. It’s free of charge and lasts around 20 minutes. You’ll need to listen through a mobile device, as you’ll move around your house. Best listened to through headphones, or loudspeaker, so you can have your hands free.

Inspired by four artists' work on the theme of ‘Come Together’, commissioned by Knowle West Media Centre, this audio piece was a collaboration between Mary Flora Hart (Image Design) and Michelle Roche (Writer/Performer).

Market stalls review

Last week I hosted stalls at my first ever markets and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome and overall experience. I was quite sceptical as selling products definitely isn’t my favourite aspect of illustration and presenting both myself and my work to the general public was quite daunting to your typical introverted illustrator who does almost all communication from behind a screen, but I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised! I made far more sales than I expected, met amazing people and overall loved the experience. - Massive shoutout to the organisers and the guy who bought 4 packs of cards, you made my day!

I’m definitely keen to get involved in more but left it too late to cram any more into my already packed schedule for 2021, so I hope to take what I learnt from this experience and come back next year bigger and better, hopefully with lots of new products!

You can still purchase all products over on my store, https://www.maryflorahart.co.uk/shop ! For guaranteed delivery in time for Christmas, order by the 14th of December as I’m going on holiday (finally!!) on the 15th.

You’ve probably heard it a million times already but I’m going to say it again… The joy a sale brings to a small business instead of major corporations like amazon is incomparable, so if you can, shop small this Christmas 🎄

Festive market stalls

Super excited to announce that I’ll be selling at some festive markets the first week of December!! 🎅🏼
I haven’t done anything like this since university so I’m also quite nervous but so grateful to the organisers for a new challenge and experience. I imagine this will be the perfect boost needed for my shop which I’ve been working so hard towards for the last few months!

The first is at UWE, and I’m lucky enough to share a table with my favourite fellow Bristol creative The Flower Girl Studios! For the second, I’m braving it alone but in a super cool new(ish) venue, Strangebrew!
So if you’re around in Bristol on the 1st, 2nd or 4th of December please check it out! Plenty of amazing small local businesses to discover and I’m sure loads of perfect Christmas present options 🎁
